Tatted Neckline Inset

Tatted Neckline Inset

I wanted to use tatting as one of the finishing touches on the dress I made for my son’s wedding this month. I chose a round neckline and tatted this little design to go on center front. It fit perfectly, but unfortunately, it just didn’t work with the dress. So I cut it off at the last minute. It made me sad. Maybe it would have worked better if I’d used beads at all the joins and in the center of the medallions, but I just didn’t have time to add them.

The design is definitely useful, though, and I’ll find another place to put this piece. I think it would be pretty on a summer sweater.

This is a beginner pattern and requires one shuttle. It is about 4.5 inches wide (11 cm) by 1.25 inches tall (3 cm) when done with size 20 thread.

I used Lizbeth size 20 thread in color 604 black.
