I’ve been tatting the sunflower bookmark from my book again lately. The result has been that I’ve been thinking more in the round and in weaving patterns. I wondered how easily it would work to interweave chains around a circle. This little medallion is the result of my experimenting.
The design uses only one shuttle to do the actual tatting, but I needed two shuttles in order to make it. On the last round, I pass the thread to the back side, and the only way to fit it through was to have the “ball” thread on another shuttle. The rest of the design is simple rings and chains.
This pattern is an intermediate level and uses two shuttles. I used size 30 DMC Cebelia thread in white.
