Level: Experienced beginner
I looked back on my old patterns and realized it had been a long time since I’ve done an ornament. It’s always an interesting challenge, so I made one for this month’s pattern.
Since we recently went on a long road trip (over 2300 miles!), and I needed to get this done, I took it with me. I’ve learned to tat in a moving car pretty well, but this is the first time I’ve added beads to the tatting. It took me a while to figure out where to put the beads and the crochet hook so that they didn’t drop on the floor and were easy to reach. Once I figured that out, and once I adjusted again to the movement, it went pretty well. But I don’t think I’ll do it again anytime soon.
This is an experienced beginner pattern because of the use of beads and the need for two shuttles.
I used Lizbeth white thread in size 40.
