I have no idea what brought the idea for a goblet charm into my mind. We use my goblets once a year to have some non-alcoholic sparkling juice at Christmas, so something like this is never on my mind.
I really had fun putting it together. I think this would be fun for a brunch or a party. Or if you’re really ambitious, for a wedding. They’re easy and quick to make, too.
This is a beginner pattern and requires only one shuttle.
I used Lizbeth size 20 thread color white.

You will need:
Thread in your choice of color and size.
1 tatting shuttle
7 or more drop-shaped beads
Size 15 or 16 crochet hook
18″ (50 cm) length of 1/8″ wide (4 mm) ribbon

Instructions:
Using the crochet hook, thread all the beads onto the shuttle thread. Keep the beads inside the shuttle until they’re needed.
Cloverleaf
R: 3ds p (2ds p) 6 times, 3ds, close
Pull down one bead and be sure it’s on the loop on your hand so that it will become part of the next ring.
R: 3ds j to last p of previous R, (2ds p) 2 times, 2ds pull bead to work, (2ds p) 3 times, 3ds, close
R: 3ds j to last p of previous R, (2ds p) 6 times, close, turn
*Leave 1/2″ (12 mm) of thread between this last ring and the next ring.
R: 10ds, close, turn
Leave 1/2″ (12 mm) of thread between this last ring and the next ring.
R: 3ds p (2ds p) 2 times, j to center p of last ring on previous cloverleaf, (2ds p) 3 times, 3ds, close
Pull down one bead and be sure it’s on the loop on your hand so that it will become part of the next ring.

Repeat between * until all beads are used. You can either leave the last cloverleaf unjoined to the first, or you can join them and make it into a round motif at that point. If you do, be sure it will be big enough to pull over the base of the goblet first.
Cut and tie.
Thread the ribbon through the small rings then place on the goblet. Tie the ribbon into a bow.
