Heather Tatted Edging

To add a bead, make the picot which will receive the join slightly longer than the diameter of the bead. When you’re ready to join, pull the picot through the bead with a small crochet hook and complete the join as usual.

Make clover leaf by:
R: 8ds lp 4ds sp 4ds close
R: 4ds j to previous small picot (3ds p) 3 times 3 ds sp 4ds close
R: 4ds j 4ds lp 8ds close, turn work
Ch: 6ds (p 3ds) 4 times p 6ds, turn work

Continue making clover leaves and chains, inserting a small bead at each long picot.

This is the same pattern written out with a different notation
-L = Large picot
-S = Small picot
+ = Join
R: 8 -L 4 -S 4 Close
R: 4 + (to previous -S) 3 – 3 – 3 – 3 -S 4 Close
R: 4 + (to previous -S) 4 -L 8 Close, turn work
Ch: 6 – 3 – 3 – 3 – 3 – 6, turn work
