I made this quilt for my youngest son, Ryan (yes, that’s me in the photo). I have a tendency to work on a quilt for a while, then put it down for a while, so it takes me a long, long time to finish. I think this one took me two years. The piecing always goes fast, but the hand-stitching takes me forever.
This is a full-size quilt. Ryan picked the pattern, the Quilt-in-a-Day Winning Hand pattern. He also helped pick out the fabrics. His eyes went straight to the fabric I used for the sashing, and I picked the coordinating fabrics. Then after I cut the strips, he “supervised” me while I put the quilt together. He was a big help! And he also kept me going. I had the whole quilt top put together in a few days. Too bad the hand-stitching didn’t go that fast. 😉
