Tatted Flower Medallion

Tatted Flower Medallion

This little medallion started out as a flower. As I worked the design, I learned quickly that it was either going to be a very large pattern or a medallion. Maybe sometime I’ll experiment with the large pattern, but today, it’s a medallion.

I think this would be very pretty with the center done in a variegated thread and the last row in green. It would bring out the flower motif and the outer row would look like leaves.

You may notice that the tatted design is slightly different than the written pattern and the visual pattern. I had originally put the small ring in the last row on the chain in the second row, but as I stitched the design, I realized that was the hard way! So I rewrote the design the easy way.

Normally, I would re-tat the piece, but in the interest of time, I couldn’t today.

This design is beginner level and uses one shuttle. I used size 20 Lizbeth thread in Carousel variegated.
