Lone star ornament

Every year my crafting friends and I have an ornament exchange, and it has become tradition for me to give a tatted ornament. This year I drew the one of us who is a huge fan of the country music group Lone Star. There was no question in my mind she needed a tatted star ornament. I chose to tat a star and stretch it over a clear, flattened round glass ornament. The “Star of Leaves” pattern from Christmas Angels and Other Tatting Patterns by Monica Hahn fit what I wanted best. To dress it up a bit, I added gold seed beads in the joins, then I stretched it over the ornament. I finished it off with a white tassle and white ribbon. What was most fun about this project was watching my friend open it. She loved it!
